It’s Time To Fire Your Clients!
Have you ever heard the saying, "80% of your business comes from the top 20% of your customers"? I have found this statement to be true in almost every case. I have also found that 80% of your headaches come from the bottom 20% of your customers! Come on, thing about it. If you really stop and think for a second on where you spend a large amount of your time, you will realize that most of your unproductive time comes from dealing with or fixing issues from the bottom 20% of your clients. So, what do you do about it? Fire them!
Yes, that's right. I want you to fire the bottom 20% of your clients. I know you think I am crazy, but here's why:
1. Firing the bottom 20% of your clients will free up 80% of your time
Yes, that's right. And, if you reallocate that 80% to working with your best clients, you will naturally attract more clients just like them. You will also get more business from those clients. Imagine what your business will look like if you got rid of the bottom 20%, and replaced them with clients that are just like your best ones! Powerful!
2. You'll make more money, and work less time
Think about it. If you got rid of all the headaches and time wasters, and doubled the size of your best clients, what would that do for your sales?
3. Get out of your comfort zone!
You know what I am talking about. Even though you know that most of your day is spent doing things to distract you from what you should really be doing to grow your sales, you justify it because you are spending time with customers - your worst ones! This is called your comfort zone, and its killing your sales growth.
By firing your worst clients (feel free to give them away to another sales person or someone in your office if you like), you are opening up the space that you need to get out of your comfort zone and significantly grow your sales.
