Increasing Word-Of-Mouth Referrals

  • In Sales & Marketing Tips

One of the best ways to build your business and increase the number of referrals that you get is to give more referrals yourself! By giving great referrals to others, they will feel indebted to you, and will want to give you referrals in return. Here are a couple of tips to help you increase the number of referrals that you give:

1. Make a list of businesses that you would like to give referrals to. Make sure that you carry their business cards with you. Also make sure that they are aware of your intentions to generate some referrals for them.

2. Display these cards at your place of work on your desk or front counter in business card holders.

3. Send a thank you letter to anyone that you were able to refer. This is a great way to promote your business.

4. Tell your clients about the great products and services that you can refer them to.

5. Constantly network. Anytime you run into someone, start up a conversation. Ask them if they need any of the products or services that you have access to.

6. Enroll your friends and family. Tell them about the great products and services that you have access to, and ask them to assist you in generating referrals for these businesses.

7. Anytime you find someone that is interested in one of the products or services that you are referring, tell them that you will contact that person and let them know that they will be calling. This allows you to let the person know that you are sending them a referral, as well as make it a little easier for the person that you are referring.

Implement the above tips, and watch your referrals grow!
