Can A Coach Make A Difference?
In wathcing the Cubs in the playoffs this year, I started to wonder how it is that they are on the verge of being in the World Series, when last year they finished in 5th place in their division, with a 67 - 95 record. While there are a couple of new players on the team, the team itself is pretty much the same, with one major difference - the coach, Dusty Baker.
Dusty Baker has singlehandedly brought a team that had a 41% winning percentage, and elevated their play to a 54% winning percentage, or 88 - 74. If they end up making it to the World Series, it will be the first time in 95 years that they have a shot at winning it all. So, to answer the question, "Can a coach make a difference?", the answer is a definitive yes!
This may seem obvious to you, but I often get asked the question, "What difference can a Business Coach make?" Well, here is a short list of some of the benefits that you can achieve with the assistance of a business coach:
Attract customers, instead of pursuing them
Operate effortlessly and efficiently Generate high profits, instead of just revenue
Attract and retain top talent Have a clear vision and mission
Improve company morale
Have strong, effective leadership at all levels
Build a sales engine, instead of a sales team
Gain insight from your employees and customers
Break down internal walls and foster strong interdepartmental teamwork
Have employees that focus on what matters most - your customers!
Imagine what your business would look like if everyone on your team was highly motivated and performing at their full potential. Would this enable you to take your business to the "World Series"?
